Voices: Bryann Burgess

Testimony before the SC General Assembly’s Higher Education, Tech and Cultural Subcommittee of the Ways and Means Committee on January 31, 2007

"Hello. Thank you for giving me this time to speak.

My name is Bryann Burgess and I am 18 years old. I live here in Columbia, South Carolina. I am a senior in high school, and I am home-schooled by my parents. The name of my home school is Love of Learning.

I am here today to speak in support of CTC. South Carolina needs a school like this. There is nothing like this close by. I visited a school in Massachusetts, and I do not want to go to school that far away. Besides, it is very cold there in the winter. If South Carolina could help provide some money for CTC, many students could attend. I know this school would benefit all the students who go there. It would give them the chance for a college experience. That is important to me.
Thank you for your time."
